Stress

Stress

 • Stress causes a cascade of chemical reactions, and some of them are detrimental to our physical and mental health.

• Stress prematurely ages you, causes many diseases, and overall is bad for your health.

• Take ‘I’m too old’ out of your vocabulary.  Do stuff you love that makes you feel passionate, happy, and alive.

• Studies show a smile takes as many years off your face as a surgical facelift.

• Keep Smiling.  Did you know that it’s almost impossible to smile and worry at the same time?  Go on, try it.

• Change what you realistically can, and learn to cope with what you can’t

• Spend more time with good, positive friends.  Fun is fabulously de-stressing.

• Surround yourself with positive, happy people who bring energy to your life spending time with others is a fantastic way to prevent stress.

• Try reading a book; reading something absorbing can reduce stress levels by more than two-thirds in just six minutes, processed foods.

• Eat well. Eat more green vegetables and oily fish, and cut out processed foods.

• Try breathing exercises. Breathe in through your nose, hold for 7 seconds, and slowly breathe out for 8 seconds, emptying your lungs. Repeat three times.

• Exercise and move most days.  Yoga, Pilates, dance even sex can reduce stress.

• Sleep More and Better
